The Forgotten Jewel in the Channel
Covering just over five square miles Alderney enjoys a mild climate and sits in the Channel just 8 miles from France, 23 miles from Guernsey and 30 miles from Jersey. A relaxed laid back approach to life embraces the Island.
From the harbour at Braye Beach it is a short walk uphill to the main town of St Anne and the main shopping area of Victoria Street. The south coast has some dramatic cliff walks which are dotted with Victorian and German fortifications whilst the North and East coasts offer golden beaches such as Saye, which is popular with families, Braye Bay, Longis Bay and Arch Bay. The Channel Islands’ only working railway normally operates most Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter until the end of September.
